Installation
A product-studio guide to hanging wallpaper in Australian homes: preparation, paste-the-wall method, and when to stop DIY and call an installer. This is not a hire-styling brief. It is how the wall actually goes up.
Method

Fill holes, sand flush, and prime. Gloss paint needs a light key so adhesive can grip. Never hang over existing wallpaper. A primed surface lets strips slide for pattern matching and makes later removal kinder to the plaster.

Measure each wall, add overlap for trimming, and account for pattern repeat. Use the wallpaper calculator for rolls plus 10% waste so you stay in the same batch. Most Maison wallpapers are in stock; out-of-stock designs usually arrive in about two weeks.

Paste-the-wall non-woven papers are the cleaner DIY path: roll adhesive on the wall, hang dry, and smooth from the centre out. Traditional paste-the-paper still has a place on some designs. Follow the roll instructions, book the strip, and respect soak times.

Do not trust the corner. Strike a plumb line, hang the first drop, butt subsequent seams, and roll them lightly. Change blades often when trimming at ceiling and skirting. Work around switches with power off and an X-cut under the plate.
Tools
Most of our wallpapers are in stock and ready to ship. Where a design isn't currently in stock, delivery is usually around 2 weeks. We always aim to produce from the same batch for colour and pattern consistency. Pair the rolls with wallpaper adhesive and the Wallpaper DIY kit when you are hanging at home. Drop matches, high ceilings, and commercial runs are usually faster, and cleaner, with a recommended installer.
